Ivanhoe has conventional production in China and the U.S., but its principal asset is its proprietary upgrading technology called Heavy to Light Upgrading (HTLTM). The company is deploy the HTLTM technology in the oil sands and recently came to terms on a development block in Ecuador. The company is also exploring its deployment in the Middle East and North Africa.
